Where we pick up
- Furniture stores — IKEA, Jysk, Sotka, Asko, Isku: pickup from the store or warehouse against your receipt
- Hardware and electronics — K-Rauta, Bauhaus, Gigantti, Power: heavy and oversized packages welcome
- Tori.fi and Facebook Marketplace — bought a used sofa from a private seller? We collect it, even from a fifth floor without an elevator
- Flea markets and auctions — pickup at an agreed time
What's included — and what you can add
Transport from €50/h — a typical pickup run comes to about €100 in total, depending on the distance. That covers pickup, protective blankets, transport and carrying to your door — stairs included. Heavy items that need two movers: from €70/h. See our full price list.
- Furniture assembly as an extra from €50 — we read the IKEA instructions for you
- Old furniture removal on the same trip to the Sortti station — new sofa in, old one gone
- Washing machine or dishwasher connection — a licensed plumber installs your new appliance ready to use
How a pickup works
There are two versions of a pickup: the item is already paid for and waiting at the store's collection point, or the item is with a private seller and the handover has to be agreed. Tell us which one it is and we book the right time slot and the right vehicle. We have over 2,900 completed moves behind us, so tight stairwells and awkward doorways are familiar ground.
A paid purchase at a store collection point
- You pay for the purchase yourself in the store or online and choose collection from the store or warehouse.
- You send us the order number, the name on the order and the collection point — for example IKEA Espoo, IKEA Vantaa, JYSK, ASKO or Sotka.
- You do not have to be there. We show the order number at the collection desk, sign for the goods and check the number of packages before loading.
- If the store wants a separate confirmation or authorisation from the person who ordered, we tell you before the pickup — usually one text message or email to the store is enough.
- We deliver within the agreed time window and carry everything into the flat.
Collecting from a private seller or flea market
- Agree a collection time with the seller and ask which floor the item is on and whether the building has a lift.
- Give us the seller's address and phone number plus a description of the item — measurements help most.
- You can be there yourself, or give us the seller's number so we call when we are at the door.
- You settle payment for the item with the seller. Handling the payment on your behalf on site is possible only by separate arrangement.
Will it fit in the van, or do you need the moving truck?
Most pickups are done with a van, and then transport is from €50/h. A big load, or several pieces of furniture at once, goes in a moving truck and is priced on the moving tariff: from €90/h (truck 20–30 m³ and two movers) or from €120/h (30–40 m³ and three movers).
A van is enough
Flat packs: PAX wardrobe parts, a bed frame, a bookcase, a table top. One mattress. A single sofa or armchair. A fridge or a washing machine. A few-box IKEA run.
Take the moving truck
A whole room furnished at once, a large corner sofa, a tall wardrobe set — or when the old furniture goes out on the same visit. The load simply does not fit in a van.
Not sure about the volume?
Put the items into the truck size calculator or send us the measurements and we will tell you which vehicle is enough. Corner sofas and extra-tall cabinets are worth measuring first.
Dimensions decide more often than weight. Give us the longest side in centimetres and say whether the item is boxed or already assembled — then the vehicle is right the first time and nobody has to drive the job twice.
Stairs and carrying into the flat
Carrying is part of the hourly rate — stairs and no lift included. We do not leave things in the stairwell or in the yard; they go into the room they are meant for. Tell us the floor and the lift situation when you order, because both affect how long the job takes and whether a second carrier is needed.
- Lift at both ends — the fastest case, everything is indoors in the shortest time.
- No lift — we carry up the stairs. A fifth floor is fine, but stair carrying adds working time, so mention the floor as you book.
- Narrow doors and corners — measure the doorway if the sofa is large. Taking the sofa feet off on site is usually faster than forcing it round the corner.
- Protection — soft moving blankets are included in the rate. Stretch-film wrapping at €40 per roll is worth it for new light upholstery or a lacquered surface.
Assembly and connections as extras
- Furniture assembly from €50 — a PAX wardrobe, bed, dining table or shelf is put together before we leave, so you do not have to decipher the instructions.
- Washing machine installation and connection from €75 — carried out by a plumber.
- Dishwasher installation and connection from €120 — including connecting it up ready to use.
- Moving boxes — if the pickup is part of a bigger job, boxes are on the moving boxes page.
Plumbing work is always priced separately and is never included free with a transport or a move. Any connectors and hoses needed are charged separately. See plumber service.
What a pickup actually costs
Transport is from €50/h, and a typical pickup run in the capital region comes to about €100 in total. The hourly rate covers pickup, moving blankets, transport, all kilometres, fuel and carrying into the flat. Everything else is a separately priced extra. Weekends cost the same — Saturday and Sunday are priced exactly like a Wednesday.
Flat packs from IKEA
Collection from IKEA Espoo or IKEA Vantaa, delivery within the capital region, carried into the flat. Van, one to two hours: about €50–100.
Sofa from a store to a third floor
Collection from the store, carried up without a lift, protected with moving blankets. Two hours: about €100. Stretch-film wrapping if you want it: +€40 per roll.
Tori.fi sofa plus PAX assembled
Collection from a private seller, transport about €100 and assembly from €50 — from about €150 in total.
Billing is based on the time actually used, so accurate details about the floor and the size of the item keep the final sum close to the estimate. The full price list, including the hourly rates for moves, is on the pricing page.
Timing: same day or next day?
We can often collect the same or the next day when there is room in the calendar. A morning call produces a same-day time window far more often than an afternoon call. We always confirm a concrete time window, not just a date.
- Urgent — call 045 7871 3636, or the round-the-clock number 045 237 3751, and ask how today looks.
- Booked in advance — send a quote request or fill in the pickup form and we reserve the slot.
- Cancellation — free 24 hours or more before the agreed time, after that €100.
Old furniture out on the same visit
New sofa in, old one out is the most common pickup combination. Taking the old item away is priced as a waste run: €90 transport plus the HSY Sortti station reception fee passed through at cost. Mixed waste reception at Sortti is €20/m³ (2026).
- Accepted free of charge — electronics, metal, cardboard and hazardous household waste. For those you pay only the transport.
- Still usable furniture — we take it to a reuse centre on the same €90 transport, if the centre accepts it.
- Sofa, mattress or cabinet — give us the measurements and we estimate the cubic metres and the Sortti fee in advance. More detail: waste removal.
FAQ
Pickup questions
Do I need to come along for the pickup?
Not necessarily — your order number or an agreement with the seller is enough. We deliver straight to your door at an agreed time.
How fast can you pick up?
Often the same or next day, subject to availability. Call 045 7871 3636 and ask about today.
Do you assemble the furniture too?
Yes — assembly is an extra from €50. Your sofa, bed or Pax wardrobe is ready to use before we leave.
Did you see the word "mover" on your order confirmation?
The word mover is a general term for a carrier or removal worker — many stores use it in their delivery documents, and it does not refer to any specific company. We are Mover.fi, an independent Finnish transport and moving service based in Helsinki. We are not any store's in-house delivery company, but we can collect your purchase from any shop or private seller, carry it inside your home and assemble it. Call 045 7871 3636 and tell us what needs collecting.
Store pickups
We pick up your furniture from these stores
We collect your purchases from IKEA, JYSK, ASKO, Sotka and other furniture stores — and from Tori.fi sellers across the capital region. Give us the order number or pickup point and we handle the rest: pickup, transport and carrying into your home.
We are not a partner, representative or authorised agent of any store mentioned. The logos and names are the trademarks of their respective owners and are shown only to indicate the stores we pick up from.
Purchase waiting for pickup?
Tell us from where and to where — we confirm the price and time the same day.
