How a long-distance move works

A move between cities works differently from a move across town, and planning it well saves you real money. We load once, drive directly and, on most routes in southern and central Finland, unload at your new address the same day. There are no warehouses or transfers between trucks on the way, so boxes don't go missing: the crew that packs your home is the crew that unpacks it.

For long routes we usually recommend a fixed total price instead of an hourly rate. You know the exact cost before we start, however the traffic goes that day.

Good to know about advance payment: for long-distance and international moves we ask for part of the price as an advance payment when you book. The amount and payment method are agreed together with the quote, so you know before you commit.

Good to know: on intercity moves, flexible timing helps. If your dates allow us to combine your move with another job in the same direction, the price can drop noticeably, so mention it in the quote form.

Popular routes

Helsinki ↔ Tampere (~180 km): usually loaded in the morning and unloaded the same afternoon.
Helsinki ↔ Turku (~170 km): same-day delivery, door to door.
Helsinki ↔ Lahti / Jyväskylä / Kuopio: same-day for Lahti and Jyväskylä; Kuopio usually same-day with an early start.
Helsinki ↔ Oulu (~600 km): a long haul, planned with a precise arrival time.
Anywhere ↔ anywhere: we also pick up outside the capital region, and the truck comes to you wherever you are in Finland.

Long-distance questions

How is the price calculated for an intercity move?

Either by the hour including driving time, or as a fixed price we confirm in advance based on your home size, route and floors. For long routes the fixed price is usually the better option. Fill in the quote form with both addresses and we'll offer both options.

Will my things arrive the same day?

On most routes in southern and central Finland, yes: we load in the morning and unload the same day. For northern routes like Oulu or Rovaniemi we agree the exact schedule in advance.

Can you pick up from a city other than Helsinki?

Yes. We handle moves starting anywhere in Finland, including moves toward the capital region and between other cities.
