Moving box questions
How much does moving box rental cost?
The rental is €0.20 per box per day, and delivery plus pickup to your door in the capital region is €60 in total. For example 20 boxes for two weeks: €56 + €60 delivery = €116 in total.
Can I rent boxes without booking a move?
Yes — boxes can be rented separately anywhere in the capital region. With a move the package is cheapest, though, since delivery and pickup ride along with the moving visits.
How long can I keep the boxes?
The rental period is agreed around your needs — typically 1–2 weeks before the move and a week after for unpacking. We flex if unpacking drags on.
Do you provide packing materials too?
Yes, quality packing materials (tissue paper, bubble wrap, mattress bags) are part of our service — and we can also pack your entire home for you.
How many moving boxes do I need?
About 10–20 boxes for a studio, 20–35 for a one-bedroom and 35–60 or more for a two-bedroom and up. A bookshelf takes more boxes than you expect and the kitchen fewer than you fear. If you run out we bring more, and you pay only for the boxes you use.
Can I put anything in a moving box?
Almost. Leave out candles, open liquids, houseplants, documents, keys, medication, jewellery and cash — valuables and papers should travel with you. Keep each box light enough to lift comfortably: heavy items at the bottom of the stack, light on top.
Do you deliver boxes outside Helsinki?
Yes — anywhere in the capital region including Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen. For a long-distance move we bring the boxes along our route to your city. Tell us the address in the quote form and we'll confirm the delivery day.
Packing
How to pack a box that survives the stairs
Most damage in a move happens inside the box, not in the truck. Four habits prevent almost all of it:
- Heavy low, light high. Books and tools at the bottom of the stack, bedding and lampshades on top. A box you can't lift comfortably is too heavy — split it.
- Fill the gaps. Empty space is what lets things move and break. Towels, socks and bedding are free packing material.
- Label the room, not the contents. "Kitchen" written on the lid gets the box to the right place; "misc" gets it opened three times.
- Pack plates upright, standing on edge like records, with paper between them. They survive far better than stacked flat.
What not to put in a box
Leave these out and tell us about them instead: candles and anything else that melts, open bottles and liquids, houseplants (they travel loose and upright), documents, keys, medication, jewellery and cash. Valuables and papers should travel with you, not in the load. Furniture we protect with soft moving blankets as part of the hourly rate; for valuable pieces stretch-film wrapping is an extra at €40 per roll.
