Why professional end-of-tenancy cleaning pays off

In Finland a tenancy rarely ends with just handing over the keys. The landlord or building manager inspects the apartment, and insufficient final cleaning (loppusiivous) is the most common reason deposits get withheld — a cleaning company's invoice is deducted from your deposit, usually at a higher price than booking it yourself. A professionally done and documented cleaning removes that risk.

Ordering the cleaning together with your move also saves time: our team cleans the old apartment right after the truck is loaded — you never have to go back.

A typical two-room flat takes about 4 hours, i.e. around €160. You get a fixed estimate up front in your quote.

Moving cleaning questions

Can I order just the cleaning without a move?

Yes. We have our own cleaning team, and you can book end-of-tenancy cleaning on its own in Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa. Call 045 7871 3636 or send a quote request.

What if the landlord isn't happy with the result?

We follow a standard checklist that matches what housing companies and landlords typically require. If anything needs fixing at inspection, we sort it out.

How long does the cleaning take?

A studio or one-bedroom apartment is typically done within a few hours after the move. Larger homes are agreed case by case — give the size in the form and you'll get an estimate in the quote.

How much does move-out cleaning cost in Helsinki?

Ordered through us it's €40/h with one cleaner or €80/h with two. A studio takes about 2–3 hours (roughly €80–120), a one-bedroom about 4 hours (roughly €160) and a two-bedroom 5–6 hours (roughly €200–240). On Puhda's own site the same cleaning starts at €45/h, so ordering through Mover.fi is cheaper.

Is move-out cleaning enough for the landlord?

Yes — the work follows what is actually inspected at handover: oven and hob, cooker-hood filter, fridge and freezer defrosted, shower screens, floor drain, windows inside, and cupboards inside and on top. If anything is questioned afterwards, we put it right.

Can the cleaning happen on the same day as the move?

Yes, and that's the most common way to do it. Cleaning starts in whichever room empties first, and the flat is ready for handover the same evening. Mention that you need both in the quote form and we'll line up the schedules.

Move-out cleaning is billed by the hour: €40/h with one cleaner or €80/h with two when you order it through Mover.fi. Two cleaners aren't more expensive, just faster — the job finishes in roughly half the time.

These are indicative: a well-kept flat finishes faster, a long-occupied kitchen with baked-on grease takes longer. Tell us the floor area and the condition in the quote form for an exact figure.

What gets checked first at handover: the oven and hob, the cooker-hood grease filter, whether the fridge and freezer are defrosted, limescale on the shower screen, the floor drain, and the window frames. These are also the spots most often left half-done when people clean themselves — and the most common reason a landlord asks for a second visit.
