Your local movers in Helsinki — we know the streets, parking permits and building elevators.

Local movers for every corner of Helsinki

Helsinki moves have their own character. Kalasatama and Jätkäsaari are full of apartment towers where a booked elevator and a well-parked truck make the difference between a 3-hour move and a 5-hour one — we plan both in advance. The older buildings of Kallio, Punavuori and Eira often have narrow stairwells and no elevator — there careful protection and an experienced crew save real time. In Paloheinä, Tapaninvainio and other house districts our larger truck and 3-person crew usually pay for themselves in saved hours.

And because the West Harbour ferry terminals are right here, Helsinki is where many international relocations start or end. If you're arriving in Finland or leaving it, our international moving service covers packing, customs paperwork and door-to-door delivery — with the local Helsinki leg handled by the same team.

Helsinki FAQ

Common questions in Helsinki

Can you move me to or from the West Harbour terminal area?

Yes — Jätkäsaari and the terminal district are part of our daily routes. For international arrivals we can coordinate the local move with your shipment's arrival date.

My building has no elevator — is that a problem?

Not at all, it just affects the time estimate. Tell us the floor in the quote form and we'll plan the crew size accordingly — carrying is part of the service, not an extra.

Do you move within one building or district?

Yes, even short moves — one floor up, or across the street — get the same careful service. Short moves are usually done in 2–3 hours.

How much does a move in Helsinki cost?

A studio takes 2–3 hours (€180–270), a one-bedroom 3–5 hours (€270–450) and a two-bedroom or larger 5–7 hours with three movers (€600–840). The rate is €90/h with two movers or €120/h with three. A building without a lift adds hours; a new building with a loading bay saves them.

Do you charge extra for weekends in Helsinki?

No. Saturday and Sunday are charged at the same rate as a weekday, and there is no evening surcharge. Crossing district or city boundaries is free too — all kilometres are included in the hourly rate.

How quickly can you move me?

Often within 1–3 days, and an urgent move is sometimes possible the same day. Month-end and weekends fill up first, so call 045 7871 3636 to check today's availability.

Do I need to book the lift myself?

In most Helsinki housing companies yes, and it's worth doing a couple of days ahead. We remind you when quoting and tell you how long to reserve it for.

Local knowledge

What actually slows a Helsinki move down

Two identical flats can take three hours or six depending on where in Helsinki they are. That's why we ask about the floor, the lift and the parking situation while quoting — the estimate holds much better that way.

Kallio and Töölö

Old inner city: narrow stairwells, steep spiral stairs and often no lift at all. Sofas and double beds go up by hand, so allow extra time.

Kalasatama and Jätkäsaari

New buildings with lifts and proper loading bays — the fastest moves in the city. The catch is booking the lift through the housing company in advance.

Lauttasaari and Vuosaari

Low-rise areas and 1960s–70s blocks. Yard access is tight in places, so we check the route beforehand and bring a smaller truck when needed.

City centre parking

Downtown, how close the truck can park decides the timetable. We arrange a temporary parking permit when necessary — just give us the address in the form.

What a Helsinki move typically costs

  • Studio, lift, boxes packed — 2–3 h × €90/h = €180–270
  • One-bedroom, lift, short carry — 3–5 h × €90/h = €270–450
  • One-bedroom in Kallio, 4th floor, no lift — 5–6 h × €90/h = €450–540
  • Two-bedroom or bigger, 3 movers — 5–7 h × €120/h = €600–840
Weekends cost the same. Saturday and Sunday are charged at the weekday rate and there's no evening surcharge either. The hourly rate covers the truck, the movers, carrying, soft moving blankets, fuel, all kilometres and transport insurance — stretch-film wrapping (€40 a roll), disassembly and packing help are priced separately. Full price list.

Need the flat cleaned for handover too? Move-out cleaning runs on the same day at the Mover rate of €40/h with one cleaner — a one-bedroom takes about 4 hours, roughly €160. Old furniture and junk go to the recycling station via our waste removal for transport from €90 (depending on the amount) plus the station's fees at cost.
