How moving companies price in Finland

Almost every Finnish moving company charges by the hour: a rate that covers the truck, the movers, fuel and equipment. Our rates are from €90/hour for a 20–30 m³ truck with 2 movers, and from €120/hour for a 30–40 m³ truck with 3 movers — protective wrapping, fuel and kilometers included; disassembly and packing help are extras with their own prices. Some companies also offer a fixed total price; we do both, and for larger moves a fixed price is often the calmer choice.

What a typical move costs

• Studio (under 35 m²): 2–4 hours → roughly €180–360
• 1–2 bedroom apartment (35–70 m²): 4–6 hours → roughly €360–540
• Larger apartment (70–120 m²): 4–7 hours with the bigger crew → roughly €480–840
• Detached house: 6–10 hours → roughly €720–1,200

These assume a move within the capital region. Exact time depends on the factors below — which is why a quote based on your real details beats any table.

The five things that move the price most

1. Amount of stuff, not square meters. A minimalist 80 m² home can move faster than a packed 45 m² one. Decluttering before the move is the single best discount available.
2. Floors and elevators. A fourth-floor walk-up adds carrying time at both ends. A booked elevator saves it back.
3. Truck access. If the truck parks at the door, boxes fly. If it's 80 meters away across a courtyard, every trip takes longer.
4. Packing readiness. Sealed, labeled boxes load in minutes. Loose items in open bags don't. (If you'd rather not pack at all, we do it — it just becomes part of the hours.)
5. The date. Month-end weekends are peak season. A mid-month weekday is often the same move for less.

How to pay less — honestly

• Declutter first: fewer boxes, fewer hours.
• Pack and label everything before the crew arrives, and disassemble what you can.
• Pick a weekday in the middle of the month.
• Book the elevator and check the truck can reach the door.
• Reserve early — good dates go first, and a rushed booking rarely finds the best price.
