How do moving companies price in Finland?
Almost every Finnish moving company charges local moves by the hour: a rate that covers the truck, the movers, fuel and equipment. Our rates are €90/h for a 23 m³ truck with 2 movers and €120/h for a 30 m³ truck with 3 movers. The three-man crew costs more per hour but needs fewer hours in a large home, so always compare the total, not the hourly rate. The rate includes carrying, loading and unloading, transport, moving blankets, fuel, all kilometres and transport insurance. Moves between cities are quoted as a fixed total. Two-room flat moving cost
A two-room flat (kaksio) typically costs €270–450 to move when 1–2 people live there: two movers with a truck, 3–5 hours, a sofa, bed, dining table and 20–35 boxes. If three or more people live there, we come with three movers and the 30 m³ Iveco: 3–5 h × €120/h = €360–600.

If you book moving cleaning at the same time, one cleaner does a two-room flat in about 4 hours at €40/h, roughly €160. Stretch-film wrapping for delicate furniture is €40 per roll.

A three-room flat typically costs €360–840 to move. This is where you decide between two movers and three: the larger crew costs more per hour but finishes sooner.

Detached house moving cost
Moving a detached house typically costs €720–1,200: three movers with the large truck, 6–10 hours. Bigger homes, two-truck moves and yards full of storage are priced by quote, usually as a fixed total so the final figure is known in advance.

Price per mover
A mover costs €90/h when two movers and a truck are on site, and €120/h for a three-man crew with the larger truck. The rate is always for the whole crew, not per person, and movers are not hired without the truck: the smallest crew is two movers and a truck, because one person cannot carry a sofa or a fridge safely. Moving help cost
Moving help alone, such as carrying on stairs, moving a single piece of furniture or unloading a van, costs the same hourly rate as a move: €90/h for two movers with their truck. Short jobs usually take a couple of hours, and evenings or weekends do not raise the price. Prices for extras such as wrapping, assembly and plumbing are on the pricing page. Moves between cities
Between cities a load is priced as a fixed total: for example Helsinki–Turku or Helsinki–Tampere €390–590 for a studio and €590–890 for a two-room flat, Helsinki–Jyväskylä €490–690 and €690–990, Helsinki–Oulu €790–1,090 and €990–1,390. For a part load you pay only for the space used, and a flexible date can lower the price when your load is combined with another job heading the same way. What raises the price
With hourly pricing everything comes back to one number: how many hours the job takes. The price therefore depends on practical things rather than on items from a rate card.
These add hours
- Amount of stuff, not square metres. A minimalist large home can move faster than a packed small one. Decluttering before the move is the single best discount available.
- Floors and lifts. A walk-up adds carrying time at both ends. If a lift exists but is reserved for other use, it does not help, so tell us in the quote form.
- Truck access. If the truck parks at the door, boxes fly. If it is across the courtyard, every trip takes longer.
- Packing readiness. Sealed, labelled boxes load in minutes, while loose items in open bags slow every trip down. If you would rather not pack at all, we do it, and it becomes part of the hours.
- Furniture to disassemble and extras. Taking apart and reassembling a bed, wardrobe or kitchen table takes time. Wrapping, waste loads and plumbing are priced separately and are not part of the hourly rate.
These cut hours
- Boxes packed, taped and labelled before the crew rings the bell. Our packing guide shows the fastest way to do the kitchen.
- Lift booked at both ends and corridors clear.
- A parking spot arranged as close to the door as possible.
- Beds and shelves disassembled yourself, if you have the time and tools.
- Less stuff: to recycling, a flea market or a waste load before moving day.
- One clear contact person at the new address who says which room each box goes to.
What does not affect the price
- Day of the week. Saturday and Sunday cost the same as a weekday, because we have no weekend surcharge.
- Kilometres and fuel. They are included in the hourly rate, also outside the capital region.
- Moving blankets and transport insurance. Included, never billed separately.

Our rate covers the truck, the movers, carrying and loading at both ends, soft moving blankets to protect your furniture, fuel, all kilometres and transport insurance. Everything else is a separately priced extra, for example stretch-film wrapping at €40 per roll, furniture disassembly and reassembly, and packing help.
Do you charge a weekend surcharge?
No. Saturday and Sunday cost exactly the same as a weekday, and there is no evening surcharge either. This is worth comparing carefully between movers, because a weekend premium is common in this industry.
How much do movers cost per hour?
Two movers with a truck is €90/h, three movers with the larger truck is €120/h. Movers cannot be hired without the vehicle: the rate always includes the truck, fuel and insurance.
Should I choose an hourly rate or a fixed price?
