How the price works
- Transport €90 — includes loading, carrying, the drive to the Sortti station and the queueing. Fixed price in the capital region.
- + Sortti station reception fees — charged at cost according to HSY's current price list, no markup. You get the receipt.
For example, mixed waste costs €20/m³ at HSY's Sortti stations (2026 price list). Many categories are completely free: electronics, metal, cardboard and hazardous household waste — no reception fee at all. Check current prices at hsy.fi.
What we take
- Furniture: sofas, mattresses, shelves, tables
- Appliances and electronics (WEEE — received free of charge)
- Moving waste: boxes, packing materials, mixed items
- Storage and basement clear-outs
- Small renovation waste in reasonable amounts
We don't transport: soil, asbestos or other waste requiring special handling.
With your move or separately
With a move it's easiest: while loading we sort what goes to the new home and what goes to the Sortti station — one visit, two problems solved.
As a separate pickup we collect junk at an agreed time anywhere in the capital region — a basement clear-out without any move, for example.

Waste removal questions
Do I need to be there?
During loading, yes — or arrange access to the items. You don't need to come to the Sortti station; we deliver the fee receipt to you afterwards.
Why are reception fees on top?
HSY charges category-based fees at Sortti stations that depend on what's in the load and how much. We pass them through at cost against the receipt — so you pay only real costs and we never have to guess high to be safe.
Can you take usable items to a reuse center instead?
Yes — if something is still usable, we can take it to a reuse center (kierrätyskeskus) instead of the Sortti station. Transport is the same €90, and reception is usually free.
